Tuesday June 12th

Well the last day finally came up quick on us since we had so much to do. We had a nice breakfast and reflected on our trip befor we checked out of our hotel and got on our plane back home to Los Angeles!

Monday June 11th

Since most places are closed on Mondays and this was our last day touring around Turin it was going to be a very slow and easy day. So the first place we stopped by was Turin’s Cathedral Holy Shroud. We were not able to get inside but the place was still amazing from the outside. The   place made you feel like you were in the medieval times. Then made a quick trip to the Basilica of Sant’ Andrea which reminded us about the San Lorenzo home because it also had a very beautiful dome but not as complex as the other. Many religious paintings that just blew our minds away with very well designed architecture. Later, we visited souvenir shops to buy ourselves something to remember Turin by. For lunch we decided to go to Olsen café which was quite fancy and very delightful. Then we decided to get some ice cream, so we visited the Gelateria Popolare. The place had one of the best ice creams we ever tasted and the prices were like way cheap! Then we went on our evening tour of Magic Turin. The tour was so awesome because we saw the city’s link to magic and occult. We loved how we got to see how it was linked to white and black magic. Some places were scary like the sculptures but the tour was still impressive.

Saturday June 9th

We were so exhausted from yesterday but we managed to wake up and get on with the day. Our day started by going to the most famous museum in Turin, The National Cinema Museum. We saw how great it was and the architecture was just breath-taking. We were so surprised of how amazing the inside of the museum looked we couldn’t stop gawking. We learned about the art of making movies and cinema but the best part was going up the Mole Antonellia because we got to see a great view of Turin AND we got to ride a glass elevator! Our next stop was the Royal Palace which included a garden. The place was just filled with beautiful sculptures, paintings, furniture, and unforgettable hallways. I really was a Royal palace and its garden just captivated us. Later we went to an ice cream parlor called Silvano. The ice cream flavors were so delicious we had to get seconds. We really loved it! We next visited the museum of San Risorgimento that was really interesting. We liked it even though it was educational because we got to learn about Italy through the point of view of Europeans and we learned deeply about the Risorgimento Era. Before we went back to the hotel we decided to go to dinner and we went to Augusto restaurant. The food was delicious but we loved the pizza the most.

Friday June 8th

Since we are halfway done visiting Turin for the week we have, we wanted to keep visiting as many places as possible. So our first destination of the day was the Civic museum of Ancient Art. Although it is a museum of art (which we enjoyed watching), it was also once a castle. We got to go in one of the towers which offered a beautiful view. The rooms, halls, and stairways were just as beautiful as the outside view. The best part about coming here was being able o dress up with swords and armor. After this we went to our Turin Underground Tour which lasted about three hours. The place was very awesome but at the same time creepy. The tour guide told us about mysteries that happened in certain locations and also unsolved murders that happened down here. We really liked this place because it made us feel like we were in the past just by walking in this ancient area. Later for lunch we ate at this restaurant called Amici miei which served really great Italian food. To finish our day we took a visit to Piazza of San Carlo. On either side of the piazza are two churches, San Lorenzo and Santo Christina. There is also a palace and a couple of boutiques, restaurants, and cafés. The famous café we visited was the San Lorenzo one.

Thursday June 7th

The day started very well with the delicious breakfast from the Hotel Residence Liberty. So to begin with our day we left the hotel and made our way to the Giovanni & Marella Agnelli Picture Gallery. It was a very peculiar place with its structure being long that actually looked flat from the exterior, but it also looked very modern. There were many interesting paintings and pictures, and one of our favorites was from ADVENTURE WITH OBJECTS and that was randomly placed chairs. We then visited the famous and huge Parco del Valentino! It was so beautiful we stayed there longer than we expected. In the park we visited historical sites like Valentino castle (awhich looked like  very pleasant place to live in), medieval village and stronghold, and the Botanical garden. The place was very magnificent it made you feel as if you were in the past. La Fontana dei 12 mesi was one of our most favorite places there because of it great sculpturing. After that we rested and went to get lunch and visited the ice cream place GROM. The ice cream was sooo delicious and we also tasted their fruit sorbets. Then we visited the San Lorenzo church that just amazed us. It was very big and when you entered inside you would just be amazed by its dome.

Tuesday June 5th

Today we started heading for Turin, which also used to be the capital of Italy before Rome. We were excited because we had heard that Turin was a major attraction site that had so many things to do; one could never say they were bored. We check out of our old hotel and headed to the hotel we were going to stay at in Turin by train. Once we got there, we rented another car to get around in Turin, and went to get some lunch. After lunch, we headed for the Royal Palace of Turin. We spent a majority of our time there walking around and enjoying the view.
Towards the afternoon, we went to check out the Museum o fAutomobile, which we were also very excited about, since it was mentioned in every travel blog as a must see. We went around the exhibits, seeing the beautiful cars.  We laughed at the type of cars and the styles of back then and today. The cars were very impressive, since a majority of them were made for speed, and we stayed looking at them fora while till it got dark.
When we noticed the time, we had to get to dinner. After we ate, we were to full to do anything so we just went back to the hotel and went to bed.

Monday June 4th

Asti wasn’t so amazing when we entered at first, but once we discovered the history of the city along with the sites as well, we changed our opinion very quickly. After having a good breakfast, we headed to one of the most recommended tourist attraction in Asti, the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, which is abeautiful cathedral and one of the biggest of all Piedmont. Collegiata di San Secondo and Santa Maria Nuova were another set of beautiful plazas, showing amazing architecture.
After a while, seeing the architecture and the amount of people walking among us, we got us bored, so we started going around viewing the nature found around Asti and its culture. We discovered that Asti is also hostof a huge festival, where all of the towns come in and offer wine and food for which they are known for. The festival is called “Asti’s Festival of Festival”,which then has a parade where they all march down till they get to “Campo dePalio” square. The sad part was the fact that the festival didn’t start until October. We also discovered that Asti is also known for the truffles that can befound in its hills. Which is also a good area to harvest grapes.
In fact, Asti is one of the best red and white wines of Italy. And since the terrain in Asti is hilly, which is how the city got its name, it has perfect conditions for wine making. After viewing some more recommended temples and churches and had lunch. Getting ready to leave the city of Asti and leave for Turin in the morning. We returned the rented car and went to bed.

Sunday June 3rd

As much as we really liked Alba we wanted to see what Asti was all about so we checked out of our hotel and took a drive out there. The drive wasn't very long and we played interesting car games to pass the time. We then checked in to our new hotel and took a small nap. After we woke up we went to a nice little Caffe down the street. Genesis got some food that looked really good but she never told us what it was. Since it was Sunday, we decided to look around at some of the churches and cathedrals. One had some really great architecture but we left our cameras at the hotel so we couldn't take any pictures sadly. After we had some dinner and went to bed. Another not super full day happened but it was really nice to see the city!

Saturday June 2nd

Today after a long flight we checked into the Al Brich Bed and Breakfast and Breakfast in Alba! We slept until about 11:30 A.M. because even though we wanted some rest, we also wanted to start seeing some sights! We had a nice breakfast and started off to rent our car. Walking there was very fun as we were getting acquainted with the town. Once we rented the car we went and saw Alba's nature which was gorgeous! We had lunch and saw some sights. After dinner we were tired and went to sleep. Even though it wasn't full of events we had a great time, especially Emanuel who loved the nature!
